Create Your Own June Phenology Wheel: Turning Nature into Watercolor
Phenology is the study of seasonal and cyclical changes in the natural world. In this five-week workshop, you’ll translate your close observations of June into a personal work of art.
Bring your curiosity about plants, insects, mosses, lichens, birds, and more. Through guided watercolor instruction, you’ll grow more confident with the medium while building your own phenology wheel — a circular record of the month as it unfolds.
Your wheel can be carefully detailed or somewhat loose and free. You can divide it into daily or weekly sections, depending on how much time you'll have to work on it between classes.
Our first session (May 30) will focus on constructing your wheel on high-quality watercolor paper and practicing small nature studies. Each Saturday in June, we’ll gather to add new observations to our wheels, develop watercolor skills, and share what we’ve discovered during the week for inspiration and support.
